CWB Gives Back

One of the things that define who we are is our love for spotlighting brands giving back and doing good. Not only are we passionate about their missions., our team loves sharing the stories with our customers.

Today we want to take a moment to introduce some of the organizations we have partnered with last year.

Our 2021 Review of Our Quarterly Donations

Every quarter in some shape or form we have made a commitment to share some of our profits with organizations near and dear to our mermaid hearts. We don’t have a simple formula because during the pandemic we have had to be extremely flexible, resilient, and creative. One thing is for sure. No matter what…we will find a way to give back.

How does it work?

Well first of all, we have passionate customers, family, and friends who have informed and educated us about some of their deepest causes and the organizations that support them.

Our first quarter we gave back to the Boys and Girls Club in Kailua by taking a percentage of sales from one of our busiest days. They are located right here in Kailua and my children used this facility when they were transitioning from Elementary to Middle School.

Our second quarter in business we decided to partner with Heleloa Media. A non profit who raises up youth behind and in front of the camera who are interested in a career in media. Cory Ida shared the idea of having some of his students stop by the boutique after hours to practice taking photos and allowing his teens to explore modeling.

During our third quarter we partnered with one of our dearest customers on behalf of the Hui Military Spouse Club and offered a voucher for new families that have moved to Hawaii to use in the boutique. We enjoy introducing our favorites to our customers.

In October we decided to take our custom Classic Waves Tote and donate 100% of the proceeds to Komen Hawaii in support of Breast Cancer Research.

For the month of November, Heleloa Media brought their youth for a photo shoot into the boutique. We also invited his youth to join us at a photoshoot on location in Kailua.

We also donated a gift card for the Silent Auction to support the Domestic Violence Action Center in Honolulu for their “Pearls of Hope in a Sea of Change” Gala event held in Waikiki on December 3, 2021.

Another organization we partnered with in the forth quarter was Hoʻōla Nā Pua. They are committed to the prevention of sex trafficking and providing care for children who have been exploited. We were compelled to send a donation after one of our customers shared about their mission.

What are we doing for 2022?

For the first quarter of 2022 we partnered with Soroptimist. They are a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. We donated a gift basket for their silent auction. Their annual L.O.V.E (Living Our Vision Everyday) gala event was held in Waikiki on February 12, 2022.

What organizations do you recommend?

We’d love to hear from you and what organizations you’d love to see us partner with for 2022. Thanks for listening!
